A small garden in a town house that backed onto woodland and fields for a novice gardener that wanted to create a more interesting space more suited to their family life. The existing garden was dominated by the timber steps that connected the living areas upstairs to the garden. By tweaking the layout of the steps we were able to create more space in the garden and also create a storage space under the steps too. A Louvre style screen was designed and created at the end of the garden meaning that the view could be open and also closed when more privacy was required. Planting was introduced in containers and in the ground to provide features and focal points along with softening the hard landscaping.
