Ditchling, East Sussex

An old Ditchling farmhouse which was taken over by an enthusiastic gardener and plants woman. I have helped to develop the garden in the 10 years I have been working there and yet we still manage to find space for new projects. An ever-changing planting palette with a traditional planting structure subdivided into different “Garden Rooms”. The “Rooms” are divided by hedging which also act as windbreaks to help reduce the impact the wind has on the garden in this exposed location at the foot of the downs. This garden also opens for the National Garden Schemes as part of the Yellow Book program. (See NGS for more details).

"Alex has been a true inspiration to work with. He is increidibly hard working and full of expert knowledge and advice which has helped us create the garden of our dreams".
